As part of International Blood Donation Day we conducted a blood group detection camp on 10-10-08 for VHSE, Plus 2 and High School Students under the auspices of Poonoor Health Care Society.

We conduct an orientation class to the NSS volunteers' .miss Sheena, NSS programme officer spoke about the objectives of NSS.
Indipendence Day Celebration.(14-08-08)
We conduct quiz competition and Elocution competition as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Neena Prabha and Anjali secured first and second prizes respectively in quiz competition.Shanib and Sunil Mamachan were the winners of elocution competition.
Independence Day.(15-08-08)
The NSS unit celebrates Independence Day with great enthusiasm along with other students of High School and Higher Secondary on 15 th Aug 08 .The principal hoisted the flag. Patriotic songs by high school and VHSE students inspire the audience .NCC, Scouts and guides were also participated. At 10 am a precession was taken out from the school.400 students and 30 teachers participated in the precession. Sweets were supplied to the participants. We gave prizes to the winners of quiz and elocution competition.
Sadhbavana Day(20-08-08)
20 th Aug was observed as sadhbavana Day. We conducted a speech on 'Influence of Communalism on Youngsters'. Massage was conveyed by the students also.

International Peace Day and International Literacy Day (Sept 8, Sept 15) were also observed in GVHSS Thamarassery.Selected NSS volunteers presented the topic, group discussion was also there.
Ozone Day (16-09-08)
The problem of Ozone layer was discussed in detailed manner. Seminar presentation was there by NSS volunteers.
NSS Day (24-09-08)
We celebrated NSS Day on 24-09-08 .We cleaned the campus and conducted a class 'on the impotence of social service among students'.Ummu Kulsu Teacher, Academic head spoke on the topic. A few NSS volunteers visited 'The School for Mentally Retarded Children' run by poonoor Health Care Society, it was a painful experience.NSS volunteers distributed sweets to them

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations
